All About Me!
I have two daughters, Colleen and Abigail, who are both graduates of Our Mother of Sorrows School. One attends St. Augustine Catholic High School and the other is studying at the University of Arizona.
This will be my twenty-second year teaching in primary education. I spent one year teaching kindergarten at St. Veronica School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Then I moved to Tucson and began teaching for TUSD at Reynolds Elementary School. I am proud to have been a member of the faculty at Our Mother of Sorrows School for the past eleven years. I have taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, and now back to my beloved 2nd grade.
I grew up as a Marine Corps brat. My father, Colonel Craig Sooy flew F-4 fighter jets for many years and became the Commanding Officer of the last existing F-4 active duty squadron at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base in Hawaii. You can tell I am very proud of him! My wonderful mom, 2 sisters, and I moved all over the world to be a family. We lived in California, Arizona, Rhode Island, Italy, Hawaii, Pennsylvania and Ohio. It taught me so much about the importance and strength of family. I carry the family "theme" over to my classroom and try to provide those feelings of unity and trust to my students.
